Empower Yourself and Improve Your Well-Being
It’s a fact that we all want to feel better about ourselves. The simplest and most effective way to achieve a better self-image is to begin to improve upon your overall well-being. Taking care of yourself with proper nutrition and exercise is a great starting point. Light exercise, which can include acts as simple as walking, can significantly increase the metabolism. Something is always better than nothing.
Take it upon yourself to take small steps toward making a positive change. Just as little as 10 minutes of exercise a day can make a positive difference in your physical appearance. But, more importantly you will begin to feel better. The small change can be to do some pushups, crunches, jumping jacks or dips at some point in your day. Almost everyone makes excuses about not having the time to work out. But, you have the ability to make time for things that you want. And I know, you want those wash board abs. The next time you watch TV, challenge yourself. Why not see how many push-ups you can do during a commercial break? Or, sit-ups, or, whatever you can come up with. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is the “perfect” body! Again, you want to start small. You will notice slight changes that will give you the encouragement you need to make some more time for exercise.
You can also make simple adjustments to your daily routine that can vastly improve our physical appearance. Instead of waiting for the elevator, take the stairs. Park your car further away from your office door. How about ditching the cart and carrying those grocery bags to the car? If you’re going to the mall today, don’t hunt for a space right up front. Enjoy the walk; It’s good for you! Don’t wait until you go to the club. Put on your favorite song and dance your house. Go out and indulge in physical activity with your friends and family, instead of watching TV or a movie. The key is to Get Up and Go!
